Mrs. Gill is the School Counselor for grades 4-8. She loves serving students, school staff, and families by providing mental health supports in the school setting. This is Mrs. Gill's ninth year as a School Counselor, and her sixth year at Thurman Francis Arts Academy. Go Rams!

In 2014, Mrs. Gill graduated from Clemson University in Clemson, SC, with two degrees - a Master of Education and an Education Specialist degree, with a license in School Counseling. Go Clemson Tigers! Before working in Rutherford County Schools, Mrs. Gill was a School Counselor in Wilson County. In 2004, Mrs. Gill earned an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University.

Mrs. Gill is a native of Marietta, Georgia but has called Murfreesboro home since 2001, except for three years in upstate South Carolina. Mrs. Gill loves spending time with her husband and kids; she has a daughter in middle school and a son in elementary school. She spends much of her time driving her kids around Murfreesboro and Smyrna. :) She also enjoys time with family, friends, and church friends who are like family. She loves to travel, shop, see a movie or play, and visit the softball batting cage.

Ms. Trew is the School Counselor for grades kindergarten -3. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an Ed.S. degree in Professional School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health.  This is her second year at Thurman Francis Arts Academy.

She has a unique background being a Social Worker in the child welfare system. She also spent several years working with children who have learning and developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, and Down Syndrome as an EA in Rutherford County. She believes education is the best chance a child has who must rise above challenging circumstances and knows the elementary years are foundational. She values the tender place that parents face when their child has experienced trauma, has difficulty managing feelings, adapting, and in need of development of coping and regulation skills.

Ms. Trew lives in Murfreesboro with her teenage son and teenage daughter, dog, and 3 cats. She loves landscaping and gardening, is a football and hockey enthusiast, traveling and is a lifelong learner. Please reach out to Ms. Trew with any needs you have. [email protected]
